Funwhole Overview

Funwhole (now operating as Lumibricks since the 2025 rebrand) is a Chinese building-block brand built around one specific idea: design LED lighting into the model from the first sketch rather than retrofit it after the build. Each kit ships with structural bricks, themed printed parts and a bag of LED light components plus a brick separator and metal tweezers for wiring. The catalog targets adult collectors and AFOLs, with modular city, retro, steampunk, fantasy, Western and tropical themed sets ranging from compact 400-piece display models up to 3,400-piece flagship builds like the Brick Art Gallery. All bricks are compatible with standard plastic-brick stud spacing, which makes Funwhole sets a popular price-competitive alternative for collectors who want lit display pieces without paying full LEGO pricing.

Funwhole Features — What You Get?

Funwhole / Lumibricks differentiates itself from generic third-party brick brands with integrated lighting design, printed (not sticker) details and a clear adult-collector positioning. The summary below covers the features that show up most consistently in independent reviews.
  • Integrated LED Lighting: Many sets ship with built-in light kits and LED light sticks for illuminated display models out of the box.
  • Printed Details, Not Stickers: Decorative elements are printed directly onto pieces for a cleaner, longer-lasting finish.
  • Adult-Collector Themed Sets: Steampunk, medieval, western, retro and tropical series aimed at experienced builders and display collectors.
  • Brick Compatibility: Pieces are compatible with mainstream building-brick systems, so they mix with existing collections.
  • Modular Town & Display Builds: Modular town-life sets designed to connect and expand into larger dioramas.
  • Quality Components & Tight Clutch: Reviewers note solid piece quality and secure connection for stable finished models.
  • Direct Worldwide Shipping: Sets and add-on accessories sold direct online with international delivery.

Funwhole Price Plans

Funwhole sells one-off LED light-up building sets rather than a subscription, and the official thefunwhole.com site links out to its Funwhole storefront for checkout. The prices below are verified from the official Funwhole store at the time of this review; sets are frequently discounted during seasonal sales.

Small Sets & Vignettes — from about $69.99

Compact builds are the entry point. The Funwhole Sheriff's-Office set is about $69.99 and the Farm-Store set runs around $79.99, each with the LED light kit included.

Modular City & Themed Sets — from about $89.99

The most popular mid-size modular sets sit in the $89.99–$119.99 range — for example the Book-Cafe at $89.99, the Western General Store, Hunting-Cabin and Gelato-Store at $99.99 each, the Mountain-Cabin House at $109.99, and the City Car-Hotel at $119.99.

Large Display & Factory Sets — from about $159.99

Bigger flagship builds command higher prices, such as the Antique-Store set at $159.99 and the Factory “House of Music” set at $164.99, both featuring detailed interiors and integrated lighting.

LED Kits & Accessories

Most Funwhole sets ship with their LED lighting system included, so there is no separate light-kit purchase needed; add-on light strips and accessories, when sold separately, are inexpensive extras.

Pros and Cons of Funwhole

Pros

  • LED lighting designed into the model from the start, not bolted on afterwards
  • Printed tiles and panels — no stickers — across most current sets
  • Fully compatible with standard plastic-brick stud spacing (LEGO-compatible)
  • Aimed at adult collectors with display-piece sizes and complex builds
  • Frequent discounts of up to 60% on the official store
  • Includes brick separator and metal tweezers for LED wiring
  • Wide thematic range — modular city, retro, fantasy, steampunk, Western
  • Generally strong Trustpilot scores in the 4-star range

Cons

  • Some reviewers note loose roof connections on a few older modular sets
  • Multi-parcel shipping from different carriers occasionally causes confusion
  • Minifigure printing quality occasionally inconsistent vs. LEGO originals
  • Brand-name transition Funwhole → Lumibricks can confuse buyers
  • A small share of orders report missing or damaged pieces
Across the Trustpilot listing for funwhole.com and independent reviews on sites like The Brick Post and It's Not Lego, adult collectors consistently praise the lighting design, print quality and overall value. Mixed feedback usually centers on shipping logistics rather than the sets themselves.

The Steampunk Watchtower I ordered arrived with every printed tile intact and the LED kit built into the structural design — not glued on at the end. Build took about two evenings; the lighting effect on display is honestly better than any lit LEGO set I own at twice the price. The FH-9001 Wood Cabin is a fantastic centerpiece for an adult shelf. Most of the detail work — fireplace, sliding bathroom door, sofa — is excellent. The only knock is that the roof sits loose on the walls rather than clutch-locking, but for the price the overall package is a clear win over comparable LEGO modulars. Ordered the F9009 House of Sweets during the holiday sale. Two parcels arrived a few days apart from different carriers, which was a bit confusing, but everything was included and the box was undamaged. The illuminated set sits on my windowsill all winter — totally worth it. Source: paraphrased from public Trustpilot review — https://www.trustpilot.com/review/funwhole.com

Funwhole Frequently Asked Questions

The questions below cover what most buyers want to confirm before placing a first order — the rebrand to Lumibricks, LEGO compatibility, typical pricing, LED installation and shipping coverage.
Is Funwhole the same brand as Lumibricks?+
Yes. Funwhole rebranded to Lumibricks in early 2025. During the transition period both names are used, and existing Funwhole product codes (FH-9001, F9009, F9011 and so on) continue to be sold under the Lumibricks store.
Are Funwhole bricks compatible with LEGO?+
Yes. Funwhole / Lumibricks bricks use the same stud spacing and dimensions as standard plastic-brick toys, so they connect to LEGO and other compatible brick brands without modification.
How much do Funwhole sets cost?+
Small sets typically start around $40–$80, medium modular sets are roughly $100–$180, and large flagship sets such as the Brick Art Gallery or Steampunk Watchtower (2,000–3,400 pieces) typically run $200–$350 at full price. The official store regularly runs discounts of up to 60% off.
Are the LED lights pre-installed?+
No — the LED kit is a separate bag of components that you install during the build, with detailed steps for each light placement in the instructions. The kit is designed into the set from the start, so wiring routes through the model cleanly.
Does Funwhole offer worldwide shipping?+
Yes. Funwhole / Lumibricks ships globally from its warehouses, with promotional free shipping on many sets to major markets. Some buyers report parcels arriving in multiple boxes from different carriers, particularly on large multi-set orders.
