Folk Overview

Folk is a lightweight relationship-first CRM trusted by over 4,000 founders, freelancers, agencies and small sales teams. With a 4.5/5 rating from 318+ reviews on G2 and 4.5/5 from 46+ reviews on Capterra, Folk is widely recognized as one of the cleanest, fastest CRMs to set up — most teams report being live inside 20 minutes. It blends a Notion-style spreadsheet experience with proper pipeline stages, dashboards, AI Magic Fields and the folkX Chrome extension that pulls LinkedIn profiles into the database with one click.

This Folk review is based on hands-on testing of the Standard and Premium plans, plus a structured read of recent G2, Capterra and independent reviews. Folk replaces a tangle of spreadsheets, mail-merge tools and bloated legacy CRMs (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive) for teams that want to manage contacts, pipelines and outbound campaigns without admin overhead. Below you will find what it does well, where it falls short, real public pricing, video walkthroughs and the alternatives worth considering.

Folk Features — What You Get?

Folk packages eight core capabilities that small teams actually use every day: a Notion-style spreadsheet UI, one-click LinkedIn capture via the folkX Chrome extension, AI Magic Fields and AI Assistants, real pipeline and deal management, email campaigns and sequences sent from your own inbox, native Gmail/Outlook/Calendar/WhatsApp sync, contact enrichment built into the workspace, and 5,000+ integrations through Zapier and Make. Together they replace the patchwork of spreadsheets, mail-merge tools and bloated CRMs that most founders and agencies drag around — without the steep learning curve of HubSpot or Salesforce.

Pros and Cons of Folk

Folk earns its 4.5/5 rating across 318+ G2 and 46+ Capterra reviews for one reason: it gets out of the way. But it is not perfect — here is the honest scorecard distilled from public reviews and our own testing.

Pros

  • Fastest CRM setup we tested — most teams are live in under 20 minutes.
  • folkX Chrome extension turns LinkedIn into a one-click prospecting machine.
  • AI Magic Fields auto-fill firmographics so reps stop manually researching.
  • Clean Notion-style UI is genuinely fun to use day-to-day.
  • Native Gmail, Outlook, Calendar and WhatsApp sync with two-way history.
  • Strong template library and AI email drafts for personalized outreach.

Cons

  • No native iOS or Android app — the single most common complaint on G2.
  • Email sequences, deal objects and API are gated behind the $48 Premium plan.
  • Enrichment credits are capped at 500/1,000 per workspace per month.
  • Sequences are basic vs. dedicated outreach tools (no A/B, no warmup, no LinkedIn channel).
  • Limited reporting compared to HubSpot or Pipedrive once you scale past 20 seats.

What real users say: Reviewers on G2 and Capterra consistently highlight ease of use, fast onboarding and the LinkedIn workflow, while flagging the missing mobile app and limited deeper reporting as the trade-offs you accept for this much simplicity.

Switched our 12-person agency from HubSpot to Folk in two weekends and never looked back. The folkX Chrome extension alone saved us roughly 6 hours a week of LinkedIn copy-paste work, and the Notion-style views finally got our account managers to actually update the CRM. Email sequences from our real Gmail inbox land in Primary, not Promotions, which has lifted our reply rate noticeably.

Capterra • February 2026

Folk hits the sweet spot for early-stage sales teams. Setup was 20 minutes, AI Magic Fields enrich contacts automatically, and the pipeline view is clean enough that my reps actually use it. The honest downside is the lack of a real mobile app and that proper email sequences only unlock on Premium — we ended up upgrading anyway because the value is there.

As a one-person consultancy I needed something between a spreadsheet and Salesforce. Folk Standard at $24/month gives me pipelines, AI follow-up drafts, and 2,000 emails a month from my own inbox — that is more than enough. The 14-day Premium trial let me test sequences before committing. Mobile is the only real miss; I keep a tab pinned on my phone browser instead.

Top Folk Alternatives

Folk is excellent for small teams that want a beautiful, fast, AI-assisted CRM — but it is not the only option. Depending on team size, budget and outreach intensity, these are the alternatives most worth a closer look:

HubSpot CRM

— wins when you need a truly free starter tier, a full marketing hub, and enterprise-grade reporting.

Pipedrive

— wins for sales-led teams that live and breathe pipeline activity, automations and quotas.

Attio

— the closest like-for-like competitor; wins for product-led B2B teams that need deep custom data models.

Close

— wins for high-velocity outbound teams that need built-in calling, SMS and aggressive sequences.

Notion + Bardeen

— wins for solo founders on a near-zero budget who already live inside Notion and want full DIY control.

Folk Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions buyers ask most before signing up for Folk — pricing, free access, ideal users, mobile and security.

What does Folk CRM actually do?+

Folk is a relationship-first CRM that combines contact management, pipelines, AI-assisted email outreach, the folkX LinkedIn Chrome extension and 5,000+ integrations — all wrapped in a clean Notion/spreadsheet-style UI that small teams can adopt in under 20 minutes.

How much does Folk cost in 2026?+

Folk has three paid tiers: Standard at $24/seat/month annually ($30 monthly), Premium at $48/seat/month annually ($60 monthly), and Custom from $80/seat/month annually ($100 monthly). All prices are billed per user. There is no permanent free plan, but every signup gets a 14-day full-Premium trial with no credit card required.

Does Folk offer a free trial?+

Yes. Folk gives every new workspace a 14-day Premium trial that unlocks deal management, email sequences, dashboards and API access — even if you plan to downgrade to Standard later. After the trial the workspace is paused until you pick a paid plan or request a one-week extension.

Who is Folk best suited for?+

Folk fits founders, freelancers, agencies, recruiters and small B2B sales teams (1–50 seats) that need a real CRM but find HubSpot or Salesforce too heavy. It is especially strong for LinkedIn-driven prospecting workflows thanks to the folkX extension and AI Magic Fields.

Is there a Folk mobile app?+

Not yet. The biggest limitation in 2026 is that Folk has no native iOS or Android app — this is the most-cited complaint on G2. The web app works on mobile browsers, and email/calendar sync means contact updates from your phone are still captured, but a true mobile experience is still missing.
